Lindsay got hitched!

My little cousin, Lindsay, got married last Friday. It was a beautiful wedding! Caroline had fun getting to be a flower girl again. This was the second time she has gotten to be one. It was lots of fun, but we are very thankful that it is over! We are fortunate that she survived both weddings and has made it down the aisle twice now!

We were able to have a mini family reunion and get to see lots of family we don't get to see that often. It was a great time. Enjoy the pics!

"Let's Go To The Movies"

This was the theme of Caroline's dance recital today. Her class did ballet to Tinkerbell "Fly to Your Heart" (I love this song)!! They also did tap to Bambi "Little April Shower" (or as Caroline would say "Bandi").

We stepped out on a limb this year and hoped that we would be able to make it through a few months of dance. Thankfully she has FULLY enjoyed every moment and we are so proud of her dedication. We have loved getting to see her grow over this year in the art of dance. This was the first time she has performed on a big stage in front of a large audience (probably 500 people). We will always cherish these special memories.

We are closing!

I just got a call that our closing date is set for 6/25. There were days when we weren't really sure we would ever see the day! I'm overjoyed just thinking about the "freshness" of a new home. I lay awake in bed at night thinking about how I will decorate the house. We've never had a brand new home so this is VERY exciting for us.

As I write this, I must say that my heart hurts thinking about leaving the life we've known for the past 8 years. There are so many things about this place we will miss. Some of the many things we love...in no particular order:

1. Our church family at Hill Country Bible Church in Pflugerville. These people know us like no other. We have been through so much with them.

2. Chuys-I hear the Chuys in Plano totally stinks.

3. Playgroup-Caroline has made sweet friends here and it's been so fun getting to know these ladies-Irene, Becky, and Karen. They better visit often!

4. My obgyn is Dr. Susan Orth and she is amazing! Because she delivered my babies I feel oddly connected to her. She is so nurturing.

5. My sweet friend Krista, who I met at the library of all places!

6. Our dear old neighbors from our old house. Margo and her husband Charles lived across the street from us. She literally became like a mom to me. She's the kind of person that will drop everything for you.

7. Greater Austin Dance Academy. Caroline went here all year and she had a blast getting to learn ballet and tap. I met a sweet friend named "Amanda" here. We laugh because it only took us the ENTIRE year to talk to one another and we instantly clicked. She loves Dallas and I know we will definitely keep in touch.

8. First Baptist Church in Pflugerville. Caroline LOVES going to preschool here. Her teachers are amazing and have HUGE amounts of love to give to all of these kids. I will miss how whenever it's time to leave all of her friends yell "BYE CAROLINE!!!"

10. I knew I was missing one...HEB, our favorite grocery store!

These are only a few of the things we will miss. There are so many more. I will have to do another entry on what we are most excited about...so stay tuned!

I'm walking! Will took his first few steps several weeks ago, but now he's decided that he prefers walking instead of crawling. I'm going to miss his unique, crab crawl or whatever it was.

He's so full of life. We love this sweaty, curly headed kid!

This is my mom. I know I can call her at anytime and her ear is always available. I don't know anyone that puts herself last as much as she does.

We're really happy with the overall look of the brick we selected. They are hopefully going to finish up bricking the rest of the house this week and then there will be wood shutters on a few of the windows. We're making a trip up in a few weeks and hopefully the cabinets and granite will be installed.

Happy Easter! We just got back from Stubbs "Gospel Sunday Brunch." It was so much fun and we feel and are really fat! I made our reservation for the famous brunch almost a month ago so we could be ensured a table. We were on the top balcony overlooking the band. It was perfect.
It was been a fun filled week from dyeing eggs, to Easter egg hunts, and getting to see the scarey Easter bunny that comes to our neighborhood park every year. The kids loved their baskets this morning. They were spoiled because Nana and Pops sent a basket for them this year. It was double the fun!

We had a great time at the rodeo this weekend. Caroline went on her first roller coaster. I don't think I've ever been so mad at Keith for letting her go all by herself. LOL! All in all she loved it and said "I wanna go again" after it was over and then she was pretty much grumpy the rest of the time. Why do we even do fun things? ;) Will decided to have a blow out diaper so that was lots of fun too! You can click on the pics to see them larger.

 

9 months!

Will is already 9 1/2 months! He's been crawling now for about a month. For the past month Keith and I have been asking ourselves, "when is he going to crawl." I think we finally came to the conclusion that he is crawling. Let's just say it's a very abnormal crawl and it cracks us up. He crawls with one leg and sort of uses the other one to scoot everywhere. He can pretty much go wherever he wants in the a room. He's also been pulling up on all the furniture.

At his latest 9 month well check he is measuring 75% on weight and his height is over 100%. His pedi can't believe how tall he is. I said "honey, have you seen my dad?" 6'7" is definitely in his genes! I've had a few people ask me if he's walking yet and I'm thinking in my head "he's only 9 months, are you kidding?" but I guess the reality is that he really looks like a 1yr old.

Will is pretty much eating everything. People always told me that boys do better with veggies and this is definitely holding true. He likes green beans, peas, squash, you name it. I've started to give him more table foods like chicken, pasta, or what we are having for dinner. The kid loves food! He fits in great with our family!

The house is moving along quickly! The windows and roof are on. We'll be heading to Dallas this month for our pre-drywall meeting and then the inside construction will begin (the best part)!




Spring break is this week and we are staying very busy. Caroline is the flower girl in a wedding this weekend. Her dress is apple green with a fuchsia sash. I'm sure I'll be running around like a crazy lady trying to get everything ready. I'm so thankful for my friend Nicole who is making Caroline a last minute fuchsia colored hair bow! Stay tuned for spring break pics...

I love Shamu and I have always been so fascinated with these huge mammals. When I watch these beautiful creatures perform I am literally glued to the show in total amazement. I think this story on the news today is devastating. It really makes me question:

1. Why is the same whale who has already killed 2 others even allowed at Sea World?

2. Should I support Sea World?

There is a reason they are called "killer" whales.

I'm going to try and post pictures of the house build when I can or when I have pictures. We have a great realtor and of course Keith's parents live up there so we have been able to get lots of updates and pictures!

Yesterday the foundation was poured. It's so fun for us to see this project finally moving a long. We've already been in our rental house for 2 months and I find myself longing to be in our new house and new community more and more every day. I definitely feel like "home" is anywhere Keith, Caroline, and Will are, but I sure do miss all my pictures and my everyday junk that I normally have around the house. Enjoy. :)

Caroline enjoyed her "elegant party" this week at school. It's a fun party that her preschool does every year where the kids dress up in their best attire, make hats, and the best part is that mom and dad get to come for lunch!

This picture really says it all. If you will just look at this picture for a few minutes and ask yourself these questions:

1. Does this child have a mom or dad anymore?
2. Is this the father or just a stranger that found the baby?
3. Will this baby have any food?
4. Will this baby grow up and have hope?

This challenges me to be thinking about what I can be doing to make a difference in the life of a child like this. We have an obligation to care for children like this somehow. You can help by sponsoring a child, go on a mission trip, or even take a bold step to adopt.
