Caroline's famous!

Okay...not really. A couple of months ago my friend from church who does photography asked me if I would let her take a couple pics of Caroline and I for some ads around our church. So we did and it turns out they made one into a big billboard that's out in town.

She's the only kid in the picture and I'm standing right behind her with my hands on her

Easter

Our neighborhood has an annual Easter egg hunt. Since it was gorgeous outside on Saturday we couldn't resist going. We decided to drive over to it with our neighbors that live across the street. When we got to the park Caroline immediately saw the Easter bunny and this was all we heard for about 10 seconds "eeeeeeeee." I've never seen her so excited in my life. Later on, as you'll see from the pics below, she wasn't as excited to see the bunny when it came time for pics.

Poor Caroline had the smallest Easter basket

It's surprising to me that she actually keeps her sunglasses on

She was so into her little eggs...mainly excited to see candy everytime she opened one

As you can tell from this picture Caroline was very interested in the Easter bunny (mainly scared of the Easter bunny). I really didn't want to be in the picture, but I sort of had to. I have to admit that bunny was creepy!

Caroline in full motion

I think it's fun to see Caroline get so excited about the easter eggs, bunny, candy, etc, but we also want to teach Caroline the real reason why we celebrate Easter. We've been talking to her about what the cross means and what Jesus did for her. I know that she doesn't understand it all yet, but I am amazed at how she can piece things together. At nightime we have a little routine of bath, brush teeth, read, and then pray. Sometimes I forget to pray and she'll say "pray" and remind me. She keeps me accountable.:)

St Patrick's Day

Caroline and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day today by going to a birthday party. Caroline's friend, Nolan, was born on St. Patrick's Day so we got to go and celebrate his special day with him...along with about 10 other wild toddlers.

Caroline managed to find a green necklace and bear in the house

I quickly found out that Caroline does not like egg salad sandwiches

but she does like cake....

Mayborn Museum

This weekend we went to the Mayborn Museum at Baylor. Caroline's cousin, Elena, had her first birthday party there. I didn't know what to expect before going, but it turned out really awesome. They have a pretty large kids section that I would say is appropriate for all ages. If you're ever in Waco and are looking for something fun to do I would highly recommend.

Here's Caroline and Elena. I think I took 10 pictures of them and I could never get both of them to look at the camera! Oh well, maybe in a couple more years...

She was a fan of the Scandinavian shoes

LOVED the "choo-choo" train

It's about naptime...mom looks like she could use one too!

First ice cream cone

We went to Jason's Deli for dinner the other night. We thought it would be cute to let Caroline hold an ice cream cone. She felt like such a big girl. She wanted to bury her face in it so bad, but she quickly figured out that the coldness didn't feel too good on her teeth.

This is Caroline's silly smile she makes when she says "cheeese" for the camera

Some of Caroline's favorite things

It's really so hard to believe Caroline is already 20 months old. I feel like just the other day we were celebrating her first birthday. She has become her own little person. She's such a friendly, silly little girl. Anytime I am out with her during the day she says "hi" and "bye" to everyone she sees. One of her most favorite things to do is going to the grocery store (she gets a ballon everytime at HEB) and then yelling "balloon!" Thankfully, she really enjoys books. She brings books to me, sits in my lab, and says "book." She likes to point to most objects in her books and say them. She's having fun right now saying "baaa" for sheep, "moo" for cow, and "quack quack" for a duck. Caroline's next favorite thing is eating her food on her plate as fast as she can just so she can lift up her plate (dropping all the crumbs on the table) and say "all-gone." I've decided to save her most favorite thing for last and that is Caroline's most favorite thing of all is her friend Sydney. Sydney is our 100lbs chocolate lab. She likes to give Sydney commands like "sit" or "place." She gets so excited when she sees Sydney (I can't say the feeling is always mutual:)

A blog finally....

Well, I've finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and have a blog. This will be a great place to visit for those of you that don't get to see Caroline all that often. You'll be able to see all the latest things she is up to and watch her as she grows up. Let's hope I can figure it out. :)
