We are SO PROUD of our sweet Caroline. She has really shown us how mature she is becoming and what amazing self control she has.

Drumroll please...

Say goodbye to the thumb!

She went in for her 3yr well check on Friday and her doctor asked her to stop sucking her thumb, after a conversation about how her teeth are getting ruined (don't they fall out anyway?) That is all it took. It's been 4 days now. I am so shocked! For the past year we've been threatening her telling her that her teeth are going to fall out and nothing we would say would work.

So here's the bad news...she hasn't napped since Friday! Her thumb was her soother and now since she isn't sucking her thumb she can't put herself to sleep. I'm trying to make her at least stay in her room for an hour to have "quiet time." We'll see how long that lasts.

She can make him laugh like no one else.




Caroline had her 3 yr well check on Friday. She's measuring the height of a 4 1/2 yr old. She is also above 50th percentile on her weight. Her doctor was glad to see that she's more proportionate now.

Somehow we've managed to steer clear of the swine flu. It's almost like an epidimec around here with everyone at the elementary school and our church getting it. We've been trying to figure out in our household where to draw the line. We're trying to guard our kids while at the same time still have some sort of life. They say eating foods like blueberries and apples that are high in antioxidants may help reduce your risk of getting the flu. So, we've been having yogurt parfaits almost every day!

Are you ready for fall? I am. With the high being 77 today all I can think about is making soup and putting my fall wreath out. I'm jealous of my friends that get to experience real fall weather. I hope you will post pictures so I can live vicariously through you.

It's official we've entered the stage of nasty, soaked onesies. Will is getting 2 teeth. Isn't that bizarre? He's only 3 months old! Caroline got teeth really early too, probably around 4 months. I think he's crying so much b/c he's in pain. It's really sad when you think about how much babies go through. First the birth canal, then getting teeth, then potty training. Maybe God lets us not remember these things for a reason.
We are LOVING watcing Caroline with Will. I don't think anyone can make him smile quite like she does. She's so gentle and caring towards him. We keep telling her that friends can come and go, but her brother will be her brother and best friend forever and she usually responds with something like "Awwwww Mommyyyy."
Today is Saturday and Keith is spending the morning out with his buddies at the gun range. Then I have the second half of today by myself. I'm going in for an hour and a half massage. BRING IT ON!

pawpaw turns 90!

We just celebrated Pawpaw's 90th birthday. We had a big "Texas Rangers" themed birthday bash. It was a great time.

God has BLESSED us with rain today! While Will was down for his nap I was able to get some quick snapshots of Caroline. She's looking out the window watching her playhouse and little red car get rained on.

just the 3 of us

Keith's parents have been keeping Caroline all week long. It's been fun getting a nightly journal from his parents on what they did each day. I've been using this time to organize the entire house and I've also been trying to take as many pictures of Will as I can. He's already neglected in the picture arena. It's hard to believe that this week Will is 3 months old. I think he has changed so much within the last couple of weeks. The 3 month age has definitely been a turning point. He's now sleeping from 8pm-7am. I never thought the day would come! I love that he's starting to smile now too.
