One of the many ways we were blessed after having Will was by meals that friends provided. My sweet friend Krista brought us these delicious chocolate chip cookies. These are not your ordinary chocolate chip cookies. They are big and chewy.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Would you look at those cheeks! Will goes in for his 8 week check up next week. I'm anxious to see what his stats are. He's definitely very tall..like that should be any surprise. Overall, he's pretty healthy. He has a blocked tear duct that is very stubborn. You can probably tell from the picture that one eye is glassy. He's only waking up once in the middle of the night now. He goes to bed at 10pm, up at around 2ish and then wakes up again between 6-7am. It's been nice now because I can put him to bed awake and he'll fall asleep on his own. I feel like this "newborn" time is already going by so quickly. Thanks again for the cute outfit Ann! It's hard to believe he's wearing 3-6mon clothes already?!?

Where are the pictures? Well, there are none because if he's not sleeping he's crying. Will has been really fussy for the last 2 weeks or so. I think he has a lot of gas. He burps all day long...what a man! It's been a little challenging b/c he doesn't suck his thumb and really doesn't care for the pacifier.
Caroline is at dance camp this week. The theme is "fabulous fairies." She's been dancing around like tinkerbell every morning this week for a couple of hours. I pretty much come home and feed Will, take a walk, take a shower, and then it's time to pick her up. She has a dance show on Friday so stay tuned for pictures. I'll try to post some soon of our little man too. Happy Wednesday!

birthday fun
Caroline had her 3rd birthday party at an inflatable play gym. I think she had a blast. I was a little bummed b/c I didn't get that many great pictures. I couldn't get her to be still long enough to take one and when I did finally she was a total grump. I also forgot to get everyone singing happy birthday to her on the camcorder! It was a special day because she had all of her cousins there-Tanner, Addison, Avery, and Elena. Thanks Nana, Pops, Kevin, Memommie, Grammy, Grandad, and Matt for coming too!

For weeks Caroline has talked about her princess cake and this is the picture I get...not even a little smile? Maybe one day she'll look back and thank mom and dad for a great party. We love you Caroline!

3
Our sweet Caroline turned 3 yesterday. I will spare you the emotions of how I'm feeling...oh my goodness where has time gone, and etc...We celebrated the exciting day with just the 4 of us. We went to Razoos cajun restaurant and then we came home to open presents. She's going to have her kid party this Saturday and has been talking about her princess cake for weeks.

This is what Will was doing throughout our birthday party festivities. It's too bad he won't do this at 2am! Is it just me or does he already look like a 3 month old?
