Our new patio

Our new patio is finally complete! Overall I think the project went very smooth. It took about 6 weeks, but all that mattered to us was that it was done right. We are very pleased with the end result. All that we had before was a concrete slab. We added on a cover, a built in grill, a fireplace, and then we added flagstone on the floor. We'd like to eventually landscape the back, but with all the projects we constantly have going on, we decided to put that on the backburner until maybe next Spring.

Sweetberry Farms

We had our first experience at picking strawberries last Saturday. It was a little back-breaking, but needless to say it was well worth the trip out to Marble Falls...maybe it was worth the trip just to eat at the Bluebonnet Cafe for some southern comfort food. Caroline's Nana, Pops, and Memom all came to visit for the weekend. We all packed in the car and drove out together. I think we left with about 6lbs of strawberries and Nana and Pops got about twice that. Fortunately, you can freeze strawberries! Caroline was really interested in picking the strawberries, but unfortunately I was too worried about her staining her new white shirt that her Nana gave her. Note to self...next year where play clothes. This weekend Caroline learned what the word "shy" means. I've been asking her all week if she had fun with her Nana, Pops, and Memom and she says "shy" and then "Pops" and then she says "bye-bye."
I think our last family pic was when Keith graduated in December!

I think Caroline has already had too many strawberries, or strawberry ice cream. Look at that little belly!

Nana and Pops decided to renew their vows!

New favorite park

On Saturday we had a little birthday party to attend. We found a new favorite park(where the birthday party was)that I never knew existed. I'm so excited because now I know where we will be everyday during the summer! The park has this huge sand play area. Normally when we go to our neighborhood park I feel like I have to watch Caroline pretty closely because there's so many openings where she can fall. This park is great because she can't really hurt herself (well, I guess there's always some way). There are fossils burried under the sand for the kids to find and lots of shovels and buckets. Caroline had a blast.

It looks like Keith found a toy. I wonder if he was having more fun than Caroline?

The kids got to swing at a pinata. Poor Caroline was really trying to keep up with the big kids. She did although know to race for the candy when it came pouring out.

Future Trooper Caroline

Friday night we noticed that our neighborhood elementary school was having a little carnival so we decided to stop by. Didn't you know Caroline is in 1st grade? We thought Keith's uncle would appreciate this picture

Isn't this a cool looking car? It's a 1940 Packard. I'm not exactly sure if Caroline was supposed to be climbing on it.

This gun was displayed in the back of the car. Keith insisted that we get a picture of it. :)

101 things to do with a napkin

Today was such a gloomy day, but fortunately we managed to play outside at least long enough to get dirty.

Caroline is attempting to smell the flowers

Somehow she managed to fall into the flowers...

I gave her a napkin to wipe off her dirty hands and she decided she needed to blow her nose

And then she decided she needed a bib...

And then she decided the flowers needed a blanket...isn't my daughter so nurturing?
