30 weeks and counting

I think I am having to ask God for patience every day b/c I want this to be over. I'm in the final home stretch and definitely in 3rd trimester. Overall, this last trimester is going much smoother than my pregnancy with Caroline. I am thankful that I haven't had any blood pressure isses yet and no bed rest. Right now I am mostly having a hard time getting comfortable and not sleeping as well as I'd like to (I'm typing this at 1am). I thought I'd answer some of the many questions I'm getting below...

1. Are you going to be induced again? Most likely. I've already had a conversation with my doctor about the size of Caroline ( 7lbs 11oz at 37 weeks) and she said she would most likely induce me at 39 weeks if he hasn't come already.

2. How much weight have you gained? How dare you ask me that!

3. Is Caroline excited? She is super excited. However, I don't think she really knows what is about to come

4. When is number 3 coming? I'm fairly certain that this will be my last pregnancy. I don't think I can put myself or our family through pregnany again. We both have a heart for adoption so maybe one day God will lead us down that path. For right now, I'm sure we'll just be busy trying to figure out how to survive with 2.

5. Is the nursery complete? Pretty much. Keith just needs to hang a couple more pictures on the walls and then it's pretty much done. I'll post pics soon.

Maryland/Virginia trip

Keith had to entertain some customers at a Baltimore Orioles game last week, so Caroline and I decided we would tag along. We thought it would be a good opportunity to take a short family vaca before I got too far into my 3rd trimester as well as a good chance to see some of our good friends,the Parkers, that live in Virginia.

Day 1 : Baltimore-Inner Harbor
This was Caroline's first time on a plane. As long as she was occupied with snacks, princess movies, and then of course princess books she was pretty happy.

After we arrived in Baltimore all I wanted to do was get some famous Maryland crab cakes so we headed over to Phillips Seafood House. After dinner we spent some time at the "inner harbor."

We stayed at the beautiful Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Check out our amazing view of the inner harbor:

Keith's greatest memories of family vacations growing up was always swimming at the hotel pool so we were excited to find out our hotel had one.

Day 2 : Baltimore Aquarium
Since my friend Marcy is only about an hour away from Baltimore she was able to meet Caroline and I at the aquarium while Keith was having fun at the baseball game. We've been great friends with the Parkers now for I guess close to 7 years. It's been fun to watch how our lives have all changed over the past 7 years. We first became friends after we were all newly married, ended up buying houses only a few blocks away from one another, then moved to the burbs around the same time as well. Robert's job recently took him to Virginia where they now live with their 2 cute kids-Aubrey (4) and Will (2).

We enjoyed spending some time at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Aubrey and Caroline were like long lost friends. They pretty much held hands the whole time.


Don't worry there is a glass wall behind them. :)

Day 3 : A trip to DC

Our friends only live about 40 minutes away from DC so we thought it would be a good opportunity to see some sights. We had never been before. Since we only had one day in DC we knew it would be a pretty packed day. It ended up being about 70 degrees.

I would definitely say that if you haven't ever been to DC it's worth the trip. I hope that someday we can go back. It was a little rough being 7 months pregnant doing all of the walking and then the kids were constantly doing musical chairs on the stroller. I feel a little ashamed that we had to breeze through most of the memorials and monuments. Hopefully one day as our family matures we can go back and really take it all in. After a long day we rewarded the kids with popsickles and then they fell fast asleep for the car ride home.

happy easter

We've been asking Caroline what happened on Easter and she says
"Jesus died on the cross."

Then we say why did Jesus die on the cross and she says "because Jesus love me (in her high pitched voice).

When we were having our storytime tonight before going to bed we asked her what her favorite part about Easter was and she said "jellybeans!"

Easter is really such a simple message. I don't think at this age Caroline can fully grasp what Christ did for us, but I love the mind of a 2 year old. It really is as simple as what Caroline says. Jesus is the answer to the brokeness in our lives. We can receive salvation because of Jesus' death and resurrection on the cross, which then enables us to have a personal relationship with Him.

We went to Waco for the day on Sunday to visit Keith's grandparents. Both sets of grandparents live there. Keith's parents along with his brother and his kids decided to make the trip to Waco as well. So, we ended up having a good size get together.
These are Caroline's twin cousins-Avery and Addison. I think sometimes our friends forget that Keith is a twin and then these girls are his twin brother's twins. It doesn't look like we'll be having twins. :)
